Melatonin in Critically ill Patients

The first phase of this project resulted in an important published work entitled:

Pharmacokinetics of orally administered melatonin in critically ill patients.

 

The second phase started in 2007 and enrolled 96 critically ill patients admitted to San Paolo Hospital ICU, between 2007 and 2009.

 

After a long and extensive statistical analysis we are publishing the first results of a double blind randomized controlled trial that demonstrated the efficacy of melatonin in reducing sedative and analgesic drugs prescription.
